The role of civil society organisations in combating corruption and building government partnerships

On 13 September 2022, the Chairman of the Board of Directors joined a dialogue organised by the Civil Society Commission in Tripoli on "The Role of Civil Society Organisations in Combating Corruption", moderated by Abdelbaset Al-Dersi, Director of the Office of International and Local Organisations at the Anti-Corruption Commission, and with the participation of local organisations.
Participants stressed the importance of the role of local organisations in monitoring public institutions and ensuring their adherence to transparency and integrity standards. They also discussed the contribution of civil society in strengthening the cohesion of Libyan society by addressing negative phenomena that harm the social fabric.
Attendees stressed the need to build strong partnerships between civil society organisations and government institutions to strengthen anti-corruption efforts and increase transparency and accountability in the public sector. They also emphasised the importance of supporting civil society in preserving positive values within Libyan society.
