The Southern Region team organized a meeting between civil society organizations and the Ubari Municipal Council on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. The meeting was part of an initiative to support community participation and collaboration, focusing on in-depth discussions of the study's recommendations. The gathering emphasized ways to implement these recommendations within the municipality's operations, particularly in supporting successful initiatives by civil society organizations in areas such as transparency, accountability, and the empowerment of women and youth. Participants also addressed the challenges facing the partnership between the municipal council and civil society institutions, proposing practical solutions to overcome these obstacles. The meeting is part of the #Eishal program for developing local services and strengthening accountability, implemented by VNG International and CILG-VNG International in partnership with DRI, and funded by the European Union and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
